How To Measure Your Vertical Jump At Home
What you will need: 1.A friend to help you
2. A ladder (if your friend is much taller than you their may be no need)
3. A permanent marker or chalk
Instructions: 1. Find a wall or pole tall enough that when you jump cannot touch the top of it (leave some extra room so you can measure your progress).
2. Stand beside the pole/wall and extend your hand as high as you can above your head. This is your standing reach. Have your friend mark this with a piece of chalk or a permanent marker.
3. Now from a starting start, jump and touch as high up the wall as you can. Your friend will need to watch where you touch so theirs no confusion. Have your friend climb a ladder and mark where you touched. This is your jumping reach.
4. Now measure the distance between your standing reach and your jumping reach this is your vertical jump (e.g standing reach = 22 inches jumping reach = 32 inches vertical jump=12 inches)
